I like reading both. The functionality of the ebook with the ability to look up words, bookmark, and cross-reference make it a great way to study literature. Plus there are time when I am stuck downloading or updating or some other mindless thing and I can "flip open" an ebook and manage to find entertainment. On the other side of the coin, I love the feel of a book in my hands and the ability to leave the computer and snuggle in a comfy chair and go somewhere else completely. I don't honestly ever see the magic of books leaving us - but it may take the novelty of a new format to lure some people into the magic.

Nadine: Because nobody else has posted on this Group's wall! You and BComquest show the time from your last post on this Wall (and now I guess I do, too) ,but since we're the only ones that have posted, they'll show Posted Never.

bcomquest: I don't think the physical book will ever die out. There's just something far too romantic about turning the pages of a bound book that will never go away. That's not to say I expect e-books (and e-readers!) to go away, mind you.. just that bound books are here to stay!

Question: Why does it read, "Posted Never" by ALL of the member names?

Even if printed books are not the norm in the future, I don't think they will completely disappear. For one thing, there are remote areas on the Earth where there is not digital access. For example, where the young actors from Slum Dog Millionaire live.

It is common to measure the world by our standards, but there are many, many people in America and elsewhere who can never own a Kindle or a blackberry (or iPhone), or even a computer to read digital books.

Keep in mind, the people who pirate digital books are turning them into print books. What does that tell you?

Plus, as antiquity goes, every discovery of a clay tablet or a scroll gets media attention, as well as the attention of academia.
