Luna's Prose Ramblings
Luna has her own little spot in one of the corners of the internet, where she reads for fun and to learn. Every once in a while she picks up a book and takes it apart chapter by chapter. So bring your favourite book, pick a comfy chair and come ramble with me !

Hello everyone...new here...just to say it's great to have a community like this!
As always, I'm reading several things concurently...Ana Castillo's "So far from God" , combining bisuness and pleasure-it's for a book report :)
Second is Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" for my British Litearuture of the 20th century exam on Monday :/
The last is a Croatian post-modernist novel. I'm so sorry I'm not able to share it with you since there's no translation in English. It's fabulous, reminding me how important it is to learn from your own history that, in one way or another, constantly repetas itself!

Kindest regards from sunny Croatia!

Just finished reading "John Halifax - Gentleman" by Dinah Craik. Very like Thomas Hardy in content and style, and a real commentary on England of the 19th century. Tad slow to start but well worth the effort.

Hi Luna & co. The Process is a book about crossing the sahara. I am only about half way through it. I forgot it at a friends house. Otherwise I would have finished it by now. I like Gaiman's Sandman comics, though I haven't read them in awhile. Right now, I am just about to finish The Book Of Fuck by Ben Meyers. The BOF is a funny inside look into the world of music journalism. Ben is one of the founders of the Brutalists literary movement, along with Adelle Stripe, & Tony O'Neill. Keep an eye out for them. I think they are writing some of the most exciting work on the internet & beyond.

One more thing, I started an art group here on filedby. It is going to cover asemic writing in relation to post-literate culture. If you are interested check it out & join the group.

I'm off to visit your blog.

Hello ! It's still very quiet here and I have not been around as much as I should. But thanks for the discussion starter, Michael. I am not familiar with Brion Gysin, can you tell me more about The Process ?

Usually I have several books going. On my site, I am discussing The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, who is this year's winner of the Newbury Medal. In paper version, I am Repotting Harry Potter together with James Thomas and the series in audiobook form - Stephen Fry does a marvelous job of narrating the British edition. Together with my book club, I am reading Maxim Chattam's The Cairo Diary, a book that took me some time to get into but has some good things going for it. And since I am finishing my audiobook soon, I'll need to start a new one. I'm thinking of Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian.

As far as illustrators goes, that's an excellent question ! I must say I have not much experience with the illustrative side of publishing, but you got me interested with your question, bcomquest. I'll look into it and hope to have more to say on the subject soon.

Cool...I like what is on your website! Bran Hambric has some great illustrators on board! What is the best resource for a new writer to find terrific illustrators?
