Go to braintospell.com to read all the details about my forthcoming book Using the Brain to Spell. I would think almost everyone will find my book a valuable resource because it contains numerous enjoyable activities that will help children and even adults grow not only in spelling ability but also in all communication skills.

This nature/science book, with many beautiful photographs, introduces children to the pollinating activities of bumblebees and to the insect trapping, carnivorous Venus Fly Trap and the Pitcher plant. It would be a great addition to any home or school library.
“I love to watch small, often overlooked plant-animal interactions in nature. The story - Bubs the Bumblebee and her most unfortunate fortunate adventure - developed as I observed and photographed the bumblebees and other insects in the garden.”
I have a great collection of nature photographs which I hope to display in the future

Making learning fun was a '"trick of the trade" when I taught third grade. I love unusal facts, the weirder the better.

"Feathers and Fools" by Mem Fox is a great book to help kids understand fighting, especially fighting (w/ wars). When we've talked about Iraq, we read this book and then talk about the different cultures that live so closely.

I think that any book that has a great story line and teaches a child to read is a good educational tool. My favorite included the Dr. Seuss collection of works, Where the Wild Things Are, and The Giving Tree.

My favorite creative activity in my English classes was writing a short story from the perspective of a minor character in the book we were reading. Sometimes it can give a whole new insight to the work.
