I have to admit, those little Martha Stewart magazine things have some great recipes. Or maybe I just think that cause they're simple, and I'm a terrible cook!

Love the Joy of Cooking! You can learn how to do everything from this book... along with the appropriate lingo and great recipes.

Also suggest: Food for Thought by the Junior League of Birmingham.
