Three Lives
Gertrude Stein (1874 ? 1946) was an American writer who spent most of her life living in France. She was an influential figure in modern art and literature. Stein became friends with some of the most famous artists of her time and had her portrait painted by Picasso. Three Lives was written in 1905 and was inspired by one of her paintings of Madame Cezanne.
