This book is composed of 11 articles written by senior scientists in the field of laser plasma acceleration and radiation. The papers were presented at the 1st Asian Summer School on Laser Plasma Acceleration and Radiation, held August 7-11, 2006 in Beijing China. The field is a fast-developing new frontier in physics. The lectures presented at the Summer School covered a broad spectra ranging from particle acceleration process in plasma driven by lasers; laser accelerated beam characteristics both for electrons and ions; superstrong electromagnetic fields and their applications; novel radiations by high harmonics; X-ray laser sources; ultra-intense radiation by relativistic engineering; related astrophysical phenomena, and so on. The readers of these proceedings will gain a relatively complete picture on laser-plasma acceleration and radiation and their applications.
