Shortly after the Islands of The Bahamas gained its independence from Great Britain (July 10, 1973) the author was attached to the Embassy of The Bahamas, Washington DC, as Third Secretary & Vice Consul. This is a brief account of those first few years in the U.S. Capital as seen through the eyes of a Junior Diplomat during a time of great challenges, unwarranted obstacles, and unsung heroes.
