Author Biography

The Author studied photography at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (A school of Professional Studies) and with the New York Institute of Photography.

Although his range includes portraitures, weddings and special events, his main interest has always been on Nature Photography while focusing on Flower Photography as a subject area of 'special' interest. He is a former Broadcast Journalist who has anchored radio and television news as News Editor with the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas. In the print media, he has written for several leading Bahamian Newspapers over the years including the Nassau Guardian Daily and the Weekly Standard. And, during the 80's, he was Nassau-based Stringer for United Press International (UPI).

Additionally, the author is a former Diplomat having represented The Bahamas in an overseas capacity for almost two decades until his retirement as Consul General. During his diplomatic career he was also Alternate Representative of The Bahamas to the Organization of American States, Washington DC.,

The author is an alumnus of The Catholic University of America, Washington DC, and the University of Miami.

Shortly after the Islands of The Bahamas gained its independence from Great Britain (July 10, 1973) the author was attached to the Embassy of The Bahamas, Washington DC, as Third Secretary & Vice Consul. This is an account of those first few years in the U.S. Capital as seen through the eyes of a Junior Diplomat during a time of great challenges, unwarranted obstacles, and unsung heroes.

Charles Moore, legendary photojournalist from Alabama died, unceremoniously, a few days ago (March 12) at the age of 79.
