Who knows what it is like to grow up without a father? Who knows what it is like to grow up struggling not knowing where your next meal is coming from? These are a couple of the questions many of our inner city youth face each day. Some of us take this for granted or have forgotten what it was like. If you know your father and you had plenty of food in your house, then you are truly blessed. If you never really knew your father or he was never around or a part of your life, if you never knew where your next meal was coming from then you was like Terrence. Terrence White Sr. grew up in the inner city of New York when drugs and crime played a prime role in the influences of our youth. Terrence struggled while his father was incarcerated and his mother worked a double shift cleaning homes just to make ends meet. By the grace of God and the love of his family, he was able to overcome many of the trials in his life. Terrence was forced to learn his artificial role through television, the streets and his mother who did a wonderful job of being both mom and dad. If we know our situation why do we choose ignorance, it’s time to call for a S.O.S, Save Our Sons.
