Susan Gabriel
Author Biography
Author of Seeking Sara Summers. I write books for children and adults. I am also a consultant/counselor in private practice helping women transform their lives.
I grew up in the archetypal American South, playing in the shade of mimosa trees and catching lightning bugs as the heat waned on long summer evenings. I lived on banana popsicles and when not in school, spent most days exploring the woods around my home.
Later in life I became a professional musician and played many venues in Charleston, SC, including Piccolo Spoleto and one gig that took place on a 300 ft. sailboat where I was situated below in the hold. I have yet to get my sea legs back.
I became a licensed psychotherapist, in part to understand the strange array of characters in my Appalachian gene pool. Yet ultimately closed my successful counseling practice, and moved with my two daughters to Asheville, NC where I did dream work with a Jungian analyst and began to write poetry, paint with acrylics and found my true love of writing fiction.
With my daughters launched into the world, I moved to Colorado, where I explored the wild mysticism of the Rocky Mountain landscape before moving back to the green mountains of North Carolina. Seeking Sara Summers is my debut novel.

I finished the book - a wonderful story. I loved the imagery of the puritan forefathers screaming from the bottom of the gene pool. You have an easy to read style and create engaging characters. Thank you!
