When I was 13 years old I pointed to a map of the world and told my grandmother about all the places I would go when I grew up. My grandmother, who had never left the United States asked me how I would get to all of these exotic places. I told her that I didn't know how but that I would and I did. I chose to believe in my dreams and I have traveled the world. I have been influenced by all of the places I have been. One thing that I have learned from all of my travels is that no matter the location or the culture, our hearts are fundamentally the same. All human beings want to connect, to communicate, and to be happy.
The places that have affected me most are Portland Oregon, Wellington New Zealand, and, Seattle Washington. I lived in Portland, Oregon for five years. I feel Portland is one of the most artistic places on the planet.
This is where I found myself, where I found my spiritual path, the place I established roots, community, and friendships that will last a lifetime.
The longest I have lived in one place was Wellington New Zealand for 6 1/2 years. I felt "home" as soon as I arrived. I worked as a massage therapist at Weta Digital during the making of the Lord of the Rings films for almost four years. Being around such talented artists everyday inspired me to attend art school and film school in New Zealand. New Zealand's people and landscape have influenced my artwork hugely. There is a sense of community, trust, and purity that exists there. The energy of both Portland and Wellington are found within my book and within my heart.
I then moved to Seattle Washington from NZ. I have been here for almost 5 years. Seattle is a very special place as it is the place I had both of my sons and is the inspiration for the birth and creation of Om Baby. Seattle is a wonderful place to manifest and create ones dreams and allows the space for them to come true. I love Seattle!
I believe in creating the world in which I want to live in. In every moment, and with every thought I endeavor to create beauty, peace, and love. The world of Om Baby is the world in which I believe in, live in, and create in. I live with my adoring husband Gray Horsfield and inspiring Om Babies, Octavius and Halifax in Seattle, Washington. |
Influences/Inspirations:
Dr. Seuss, Heather Main, Gray and Kate Horsfield, my children, divine mother energy, nature, my own inner voice (intuition), the energy of the universe, God, Goddess, Allah, Spirit, what ever you want to call the Creator...(I believe it is all the same but different cultures/religions use different names for the same thing.) My religion is LOVE. I am inspired, motivated, and deeply influenced by LOVE.

Current Projects:
Raising two beautiful, magical, and inspiring Om Babies! (The reason and inspiration behind what I do professionally!!!!!) Creating Om Baby World, writing & illustrating Om Baby book series, and Om Baby by Planet Om clothing line for babies and children will be coming out this fall.
Interests:
I am dedicated to my family and spiritual practice. I love to create, design, inspire, and follow my passion & creativity where ever that leads and guides me. I love to write, read, draw, paint, meditate, do yoga, and consider myself a visionary artist, mother,healer, teacher, and forever a child of the universe!
