Influences/Inspirations:
Steven Spielberg for one. I had met him at Universal Studios just before he began directing Jaws. I was not impressed with this 26 year old. Then I saw Jaws and had a change of heart. 25 years later I was lucky enough to be chosen to make a documentary on his career (my TV series THE DIRECTORS). I have always been inspired by his work.
Favorite Writers and Artists:
For artists, I am a Michaelangelo fan big time. As for writers, the late Don Robertson who Steven King called one of the best unknown writers in America. Find his books and read them - especially PRAISE THE HUMAN SEASON. Masterful!
Current Projects:
I am writing EDEN DESTROYED, the sequel to last years IN THE REALM OF EDEN. You'd think because I know the characters it would be easy. I wish that were true. Writing a sequel and trying to keep back story to a minimum is a difficult job if you want the sequel to stand on its own without the reader having to go back and read the first novel. I am also working on MY FATHER'S SONS, based on a true story that I have chosen to fictionalize since it involved some painful stories of my family.
Interests:
Limited. I am a writing freak - it gives me tremendous pleasure to create stories and interesting (I hope) characters. I also spend a lot of time with the grandkids who bring me great job.
Family:
My wife and I have two children - one boy, one girl - three grandsons.
University Affiliations:
The United States Air Force. Does that count?

Charities/Causes:
Hospice/MDA
