The Judge Report: Musings of a Conservative Republican Pro-life Catholic Red Sox Fanatic
Author: Robert GoingRobert Going

An eclectic mixture of essays on politics, religion, sports, the
judiciary and just about any topic capable of inciting an argument,
drawn from the pages of the author's popular blog, The Judge Report.

Laced with humor, wit, satire both biting and gentle, the
occasional song parody and a good dose of old-fashioned sentimentality,
The Judge Report seeks to show the world through the eyes of a lawyer
and former judge in small town upstate New York, with all the foibles
and fantasies that entails. Along the way you'll meet some interesting
local characters and learn about the lives of some wonderful people who
never made the papers much.

A Must Read ~ And an easy one at that!, April 15, 2009

Wonderful and stirring collection from a man of great intellect and humor. A must read for lovers of old~time Amsterdam, as well as those with an appreciation of conservative views. Since this is a collection of great blog entries, it is an incredibly easy read. The blogs are mostly strung together in such a way that you can read five or six pages and put down for a few days or weeks and easily pick up again to move on to next 'section'. The stories within have great hidden depth and are so much more than about the author himself ... they actually end up being about the people and places he has encountered. Written with much heart, soul and a fantastic wit.

Being a fan of the Judge Report blog {http://rgoing.livejournal.com/ }, I received this book as a gift and expected to get to know the author more by reading. I did. What I didn't expect was to have gained such appreciation for the everyday doings of ordinary people who truly made a difference in this City, State & Country.

As I await my gift of his other book, the semi-fiction "The Evil Has Landed", it will be interesting to see how he measures up in the 'novel category' as opposed to this great 'collection type' writing. I'm pretty confident I won't be disappointed.
