The Love for a Dying Woman with Lupus

This book was written in tribute to a great woman who developed a disease called lupus. Having this illness caused her to give up her career as a registered nurse and to submit to lupus.

Alice's desire to live came from her faith in God. She knew that God has the power to heal. At times Alice would get angry over her illness and cry out to God, saying, "Why me?" Some people say we should not question God or ask why. It has been said that we should ask God for what we want and wait for the answer. As this lady of great faith held to God's unchanging hands and the doctors were doing all they could, she began to motivate herself to live on. She developed a purpose for living. She had developed lupus in the year of 1972. At that time, they did not know much about the disease called lupus. Being her husband and caretaker, I began to try to understand. I was having emotional difficulty dealing with the thought that there was no cure and that my loved one was going to die. It seemed very unfair. My faith and our faith combined together, and our love for one another was our strength and our key to our endurance. When you are doing all you can, the best medicine is just a little tender loving care. I was proud to be her husband through sickness and in health. This story is about my love for a dying woman with lupus.

Excellent Book,

I enjoyed reading this book. It is the best
book regarding compassion I have ever read.I could not put it down, so very informative and interesting. Such expression of love and faith
in God. Odell K Miller Sr is truly an example of how a man should treat his wife. I also was very much impressed with the use of 'Motivation Therapy' which was so successfully used. This book should be read and passed along. It makes an excellent gift.

MARRIAGE VOWS ARE EASY WHEN YOU ARE IN LOVE:

I just read Mr. Miller's memoirs of his wife. His love and devotion touch me deeply. I have only witnessed this type of effection once. When a young friend of mine, thirty-three years of age passed away with Cancer. Her husband's love and undivided attention, and the wanting to see her young daughter grow a bit more gave her 'reason to live'. Mr Miller to me is a real example of a man that adored his wife and cherished his vows all the way to the final goodnight tucked at the interment service. I thank Mr. Miller for sharing with us how to love and respect a woman.

GREAT BOOK - HIGHLY RECOMENDED:

I especially loved the faith in God and use of 'Motivation Therapy' portrayed in the book. What a powerful informative book. A man who refused to allow his wife to lose her dignity throughout her illiness and to the end.

THIS IS A STORY THAT TOUCHES THE HEARTS OF EVERYONE:

The dedication of Odell Miller Sr to his wife, Alice during her illness is Extraordinary! This is not only a story about the love that a husband has for his wife, but also the journey together as partners fighting against all odds to overcome a life altering challenge. With the support of their friends and family, along with true belief and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, they are able to endure and overcome the realities of living with a family member suffering from Lupus. I cannot express the caliber of a man that knowingly takes on the burden of caring for a loved one with their determination that Odell Miller describes in his tribute to the love that he shared with his Quinlin.

AMAZING EXAMPLE OF LOVE AND FAITH IN GOD

I am blessed to be the goddaughter of Odell and Alice Miller. I saw firsthand the love and devotion that Odell Miller showed his wife during her long battle with lupus, I was blessed to be present for many of the family events and trips that were mentioned in the book. These experiences have shaped so much of my life, I learned the true meaning of love, devotion, and faith. My Godfather is a man in every sense of the word - he lived his marriage vows and trust in God to the fullest. My Godmother was an amazing woman - who taught me that no matter how you live life, trust in God always. This book is a blessing to all of us.

My Name is Curtis Johnson, I met Mr Miller at of all places a class reunion, as we sat at the table for the Banquet, we started talking and the more we talked the more it brought back the changes my wife and i went through while she was dying. I stayed at home to be her caregiver, there were times I tried to reasure her it is going to be ok, only my faith in God kept me from giving up, I cried all through the book but what Mr Miller went through i am sure God gave him the will to go on. God Bless You Mr Miller. Our meeting was not by chance, God was in the plan.
