Carmello police detective, Lieutenant Tony Blaise, has his life turned upside down when he is called in to investigate the murder of a local socialite that has a dubious past and is the wife of a prominent business man in this central California city. The case leads to a seemingly unrelated string of deaths that are spread over three states and the search for a mysterious hired killer in a conspiracy that is fueled by greed. Not only does Tony have to deal with the death of his wife, his growing love for his beautiful roommate, and his disdain for the CSI phenomenon that has taken over television, but now he is thrown into an investigation that leaves him feeling he is living a cliché-filled cop movie and puts his roommate and him in the direct path of danger.

Monte Alexander 06/09/10

Via email I recieved

Monte, I was getting to page 274 of 283 pages and I'm thinking, "this is going to be continued" there are just not enough pages left to get to the WHY?
I don't know how you wrapped it all up in a few short sentences, but you did. You planned it all very well. Your characters are very interesting and Heather could think on her feet as well as her back. She appeared to be the smart one. And Chavez, he left bodies, like Hansel and Gretel left crumbs. He wasn't looking for a way back home, but did find a way out!! ..No need to tell you what you already know, I enjoyed the read immensely. Once you really get into it, it is hard to put down. Thanks for sending an autographed copy to john, Good Luck with future releases, I'm sure there will be more.

I have very little time to read so it's important that I get into a book quickly and that it keeps my attention. Boy, did this one deliver! The characters were woven in and out of the story as the plot thickened. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read! Good job, Monte Alexander!

I thought this book was very good and kept me interested the entire time. I tought the characters were developed well and the reader really got a good description of all of them. The story was paced well, and there was never a dull moment. I also enjoyed the relationship between Heather and Tony. I love a good cop, crime story, but it is always good to have a little love interest in the story as well. I would recommend this book to people, and I hope that the author decides to write more books.

A must read for detective novel fans. The story has believable characters and the pace is fast, on the edge reading. Reminded me of the Mickey Spellane series of the sixties. Mr. Alexander should get his next book out ASAP, I have my money in hand.

I love the characters in this book! The author does an amazing job of holding your attention, describing the characters and building to a climax (alot of them...lol). I hope Mr. Alexander brings back some of these characters in his next book!

I am ordinarily not a fan of murder mysteries, but this one kept me reading! Every time I thought, "Oh, I'll quit after this chapter," I found myself proceeding through the next and the next. I really appreciated the entirely unpredictable plot and rich variety of characters. I hope this isn't the last we'll hear from this author!
