Born in Knoxville,TN. I moved to CA nine years ago and fell in love with the ocean. I became a tide pool docent and served on the Laguna Ocean Foundation board. My position was to promote tide pool preservation primarily for children. SEE INTO THE SEA is a color and learn book that is fun and educational. It is full of "whacky facts" that spark the imagination. Making school visits to teach about tide pools and the writing process have kept me connected with education and children. I work at Chapman University as a Reading Supervisor in the School of Education. |
Influences/Inspirations:
My family always took vacations at the ocean. I was taught to enjoy and respect the ocean and its animals. Having taught school for many years probably explains my desire to learn more about sea creatures and their surroundings.
Favorite Writers and Artists:
I am partial to southern writers with settings near the ocean or mountains. Some favorite authors are Mary Alice Monroe, Kristin Hannah and Luanne Rice.
Current Projects:
I am working on another color and learn book. This book will be full of unusual facts about crustaceans.
Interests:
Not only do I love the ocean but I also enjoy flower arranging, cooking and reading.
Family:
My wonderful family includes a daughter, son and husband. All have encourgaged my writing and other interests.

I am a Reading Supervisor at Chapman University. I Graduated from Spring Hill College with a degree in Elementary Education.
