Once you begin reading the book you are bound to it because the unbelievable perversion of a young relationship that leads to a family household with two young children of marriage. The legal effect and the outcome are not congruent with expected norms of justice. You may find yourself intensely reading to seek answers and truth for the author and for the children. It is tragic, yet it is fascinating how the added effect of the legal system placed an unimaginable burden upon the author in his family testament. The testament reflects a growing movement in the Americas where citizens both demand and expect equal treatment before the law and equal protection under the law.

The author’s experience highlights a system which readers may believe fails to protect children and parents during the marriage and during the marriage dissolution experience of this author’s family unit. One is left wondering how anyone may keep faith in the legal structure, institution, and system once placed before and beneath the burden of the legal process where a parent is fighting to protect the family and the interests of the children. The legal system is built upon respect for legal principles and the family group unit. However, the experience captured within the chapters of this book demonstrates the experience of a growing mass population objecting to the family experience. It is disappointing that the children of this family unit have lost their right to access their father given the author’s ongoing efforts to follow the law by respecting his values and family principles, and efforts to protect his family and the two children of marriage.

The book is truly a family testament to the fidelity challenges concerning sociology of the family, responsible parental behavior, and the modern legal institution put in place to protect the family group unit. Readers of this book may be intrigued and shocked. It is thought provoking from start to finish!

The Family Court paradigm: In general, the family experience may be unique when entering the family court system with the possibility of a trial. In general the reader may have thoughts or questions concerning family values or norms of society such as:

1. Are societal norms and values aligned with judicial processes?
2. Is it a challenge to balance gender equality rights in family law with a legal moral compass?
3. Is gender equality possible in family law?
4. Is there an institutional or systemic bias that causes a moral injustice and opposite effect to ideals of gender and family equality?

Nevertheless, the author’s family life experience, as it is told, is sociologically interesting and tragic. The language expresses a heartfelt testament of family leadership effort and family challenge in multiple countries and on two continents. This story may be helpful to everyone who, reflecting on past, present or future, experiences the legal regime. In many ways family units may experience the corridors of family law direction and the systemic confusion when experiencing family law logic. The book is a perspective lens for anyone’s personal family testament.

This is my first written review of a book.....and what a book to start with....I walked through every page with the writer....
His pain and anguish was mine......I felt carried along with Mick....I lived and breathed his life....in every word...
His raw feathered talent as a writer....absorbed me with every emotion....
I needed to reach the ending....though wanting the book to never end......
It's not a story per/say....it's Mick's life.....his willingness to open himself to strangers gives
me a new found respect for him....

A man with a vision..to assist others in his quest for the truth......by revealing his open wounds...
I drew strength from the writer.....this book felt like an unending roller coaster ride to me...
Every page..every word....I'm awe struck with said writer...
I await impatiently....for writers next novel....well done Mick....so well written....you do yourself proud.....

I have read several books lately, great book’s from many famous and great writers, since I am in divorcing process and have some extra
time. But no one of them impressed me more then “Family Testament”.

It is amazing how easy this Author is dealing with some of greatest writer’s Quest’s
and Challenges; explaining the substance of the actual problems in our society
by using simple words (understandable to everybody), kind of broken English, but making perfect links using a real events and at the same time opening new
perspectives.

I had impression I am watching the best movie while reading this
book. The scenes exchanged unexpected way up front of my eyes, one after
another making impossible to drop a book of over 700 pages.

I personally related to this book at many points and found
my self shaking many times while reading. You can touch reality while reading “Family
Testament”, you can feel it, and you can literary cut it with a knife.

This is
also very educational book that answers a lot of questions an all day person is
struggling with. Many things became clearer to me too. First time in my life I
have read so big book in so short period of time (two readings) still can’t believe
it.

I can’t wait to see more books from this author. I hope
there will be more.

Oh, and that Court trial was a classic American Court Drama you see only in the best movies. It was a thrilling experience to read it.

This is really book like no one before,
a Masterpiece.

Family Testament by Mick Karabegovic is a truly fascinating story. You can tell right away that the book was written from the author's heart, and his passion in evident throughout his story. The story begins in Bosnia, where the Karabegovic shares stories from his early life. It was very interesting to hear what it was like dealing with young love in the midst of a national crisis from the first person point of view.

Mick also reveals some things about the American legal system that I didn't know. The experiences of Mr. Karabegovic with the judicial system really made me question some of our legal processes, and made me realize some of the difficulties that fathers can encounter. Overall, this book was very eye-opening in its telling of a man and the nightmares he may encounter. The book was very hard to put down, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a book with a fresh, new perspective.

I'm not an avid reader but this book was one I just could't put down!
It is an eye opener as to the way the judicial system is favoring women in court proceedings. I can't beleive how the system is so blind and works with ears closed to the real truth.

The book by Mick Karabegovic titled Family Testament brings a word to mind. That word is "broken". In Family Testament Mick tells his life story beginning in the mid 1980's as a young man in his home country of Bosnia as he first meets the woman who he is sure will be the love of his life.

The young Mr. Karabegovic has in him a strong sense of family values and an equally strong sense of right and wrong all learned from his father and mother. At this young age he has no idea how much his values and his strength will be tested in the decades ahead. Having immigrated to America in 2002 he uses his broken English to tell a story that starts in the midst of a broken political and social system that eventually forces him to leave Europe with his family. His unedited and sometimes humorous use, or maybe I should say misuse, of English adds to the reader being able
to relate to and empathize with Mick. He tells of how he deals with broken moral values, broken vows, a broken social services system and a legal system that only adds to the problem. It's a tragedy, but it is also a love story. As he tells of his feelings for
Olivia, the love of his life, only the luckiest of readers will be able to relate. The rest of us will be reminded, or maybe feel for the first time, how love and devotion can drive a person. Then you will feel Mick's broken heart as things unravel in his marriage and
family life.

The story of Mick's life reads like a romance fiction novel, but the story is true and it contains within it a very strong social commentary about family values and the government and social systems on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean that can help tear
families apart.

What I liked about Family Testament was the way Mick told his story. He would tell his story, then break it down and give you some history leading up to that moment. The story is compelling, with lots of twists and turns. The love story is one you have heard before about a man who finds the woman of his dreams, but later finds out she’s a nightmare. The court trial helps you understand how messed up the judicial system is towards an innocent man who did nothing wrong. Overall I enjoyed the book and have a better understanding of how a man in today’s society can be unjustly accused and be told “that’s just the way it is”.

Thank You

Family Testament is about the many challenges families face on a day to day basis. But more importantly it’s about societies’ view of family. The reason for gangs, shootings, and drugs can all be explained when you read Family Testament.

It is well known that a child who doesn’t get attention or gets too much attention will misbehave to feel loved or accepted.

Rights. Human rights. We all agree they are important, but are they more important than family responsibility? Responsibility to your kids? Spouse? Everyone will agree that family does come first but nobody acts like it. Why is that? People meet, get married after 2 months to a year, have kids shortly after, then divorce without any thought of consequence to their kids.

When you read a book you may ask yourself, “Do I like this book?” If it’s a no, you put the book down, and don’t think twice about it. But WHY don’t you like it? Was there enough drama, or real life situations? Could you relate to it in any way? Did it make you think? And finally, did it get you emotionally involved? If not, then yes, that was probably a terrible book. Family Testament however, is not. Family Testament is a story about a man’s struggle for his family over 20 years and 5 countries from Bosnia to the fictional Town of Eslington, WI. Family Testament has everything from periods of serenity and chaos, happiness and sadness, love and hate, and will leave your view of society and moralities forever changed or not. Everyone will agree with that moral of this story but, is agreeing enough?
