Michael has written more than 200 children's books including middle grade novels, tie-in novelizations, and picture books based on movies, video games, and television shows such as Smallville, Avatar, Men in Black, X-Men and Spider-Man.
Michael's packaging company, Town Brook Press, created and produced Spider-Man Magazine for Marvel Entertainment.
Michael has written novels for young readers using classic characters as varied as Spider-Man, Superman, Batman, Garfield, the Muppets, Jimmy Neutron, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
His non-fiction work includes books on the Baseball Hall of Fame, Sports in America, How Comic Books are Made, and the History of Radio & Television.
His latest series is Backyard Sports (Grosset & Dunlap, 2008-2009), a chapter book series based on the #1 sports video game franchise for kids.
Michael's original book, The Scary States of America (Delacorte, 2007), a collection of 50 short stories, one from each state, all about the paranormal, was recently sold to the Scholastic Book Club.
He is now at work on a biography of Jackie Robinson for Sterling. |
