THE EXTRAORDINARY INTELLIGENCE OF THE DOLPHIN

Did you know that the architecture of the bottlenose dolphin brain is in some respects even more complex than a human's? And while the hominid has been around a paltry 2 million years, compare that to the various forerunners of modern day cetaceans which go back 50 million years. Without hands, dolphins were unable to build machines or develop written languages as mankind did, thus it is speculated they were able to develop an awareness far above the way the human species perceives the universe, judging from the complexity of their brains. Whereas humankind became grounded in his machinery and materialistic pursuits, those highly developed delphine minds ventured off into uncharted esoteric realms eons ago, dimensions that would most likely be alien to the human intellect. These are some of the things embedded within the book's plot.

With these things in mind, here’s something to consider. Try to imagine what might happen if a new species of dolphin suddenly sprang into existence by some arcane quirk of evolution, a species possessing super-intelligence and prehensile digital extremities that approximate hands. Add to this a beautiful girl through whom they are able to focus and harness their collective mental energies. Now attempt to predict the impact of this on the rest of the planet.
