Author Biography

Marion Meade is the author of Bobbed Hair and Bathtub Gin: Writers Running Wild in the Twenties. She has also written biographies of Dorothy Parker, Woody Allen, Buster Keaton, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Madame Blavatsky, and Victoria Woodhull, as well as two novels about medieval France. She lives in New York City.

A joint biography of Nathanael West and Eileen McKenney, Lonelyhearts: The Screwball World of Nathanael West and Eileen McKenney, will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in March 2010. This snapshot of their brief lives is presented against a panoramic background of the Jazz Age and the Great Depression, with a supporting cast that includes many of the literary, theatrical, and movie notables of their era.
