'Wisdom is wasted when not shared with others!' -MDT

I am currently working on a book entitled, "Silent Hope: The Remarkable Courage of a Teenage Mother" which explains and describes the true strengths and remarkable courage of a teenage mother named Virginia Stephens, who is raising her daughter Faith Stephens on her own while living in poverty and wishing to change the negative cycle of all fatherless children into a more positive one. Once experiencing a pivotal moment in her own life, with the support and wisdom of her mother, Hope Stephens(Lady of Wisdom), and also with her strong belief in God, Virginia begins to encourage, motivate and inspire other young mothers to march forward with or without the father of their children in their lives, and under any circumstance, be a positive role model for their child(ren) as well. I am dedicating this book to all of the mothers who have struggled and are presently 'struggling to succeed' with raising their children on their own to be successful individuals in today's society! It will be published by Christian Book Publisher's, Tate Publishing Inc., in 2013.

Possibly to follow is my book entitled, "Tears of Frustrations ll, The Chronicle: Rebel Without a Pause"

“It takes a ‘man’ to raise a boy into a man… so to all of the fathers and real men out there that are helping to create positive change with our future generations, this one’s for you!”

SYNOPSIS:

This is a round by round, soul-stirring story told from a deep, dark and private place inside of the author’s heart and soul that he wishes to personally share with his readers. This telling and thought-provoking story is a motivating and inspiring read that mesmerizes its audience with the specific details and heart-felt situations that one will sincerely connect and empathize with while reading this book.

It tells the story of a father who is living with the yearning for his own father’s love and presence, while continually struggling to fight to change the negative cycle and negative experiences of his own adolescent son, so he won’t grow up with the same emotional bruising as he did. This extremely profound and educating book also expresses the life-long fight that it takes to make it all happen.

Every year older is a round outside the ring where the fight happens and the extreme challenges begin. These challenges, which could either make or break the true man that is growing inside of this strong-willed and courageous father and possibly wear him down, are ones that knocks every day men off of their feet. It’s the fight within him, to save his son, that forces him to become a rebel without a pause and keeps him standing upright and standing tall with his head up, willing to face any and every obstacle which lies in front of him.

There are severe negative affects when a child, especially a boy, is being raised without a father in their home, what are the positive effects, if any? If absence makes the heart grow fonder, then what does the presence of a father do for a child? Well, in this particular extremely educating book, you will definitely find out!

"Life is a struggle and then you die, but before I do, I demand to be happy!" -MDT

"Remember, we are not created by situations... we create our own situations, therefore situations are created by us. Life is what we make it... stay focused and always understand who is in charge, God!"

"It's not that I dream too big, unfortunately it's some people that I tend to tell my dreams to that dream too small."

"I am not afraid of climbing a mountain that's made of a thousand "No's" to reach one successful "Yes!" -MDT

"Conquering Hope: One Man's Journey from Poverty to Success" is the story I will some day be sharing and informing others on how 'not' to give up on their personal dreams... failure is just not an option!"
Influences/Inspirations:
Loretta M. Thomas (my mother), Willie Van Thomas Sr. (my father), Shawna E. McBride-Thomas (my wife), my dear children, all of my siblings, close friends and family members, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey, Terry McMillan, Tyler Perry, Michael Baisden, Stephen Spielberg, James Cameron etc...
Favorite Writers and Artists:
I have many favorite writers and artists, but I would absolutely have to say that Tyler Perry is one of my most influential, world-renowned artist/writer who inspires me the most. The creativity that he shows through the screen, of all of his talents, motivates me to try harder to create, be it fact or fiction.
Current Projects:
I am currently writing another book which will inspire our future generations of youth and motivate them to think before they take part in selfish acts which lure them deeper into poverty, such as having children at young ages, indulging in drugs, ignoring their education, succumbing to negative peer pressure and failing to set and strive for their goals and desires. This book is entitled "Silent Hope: The Remarkable Courage of a Teenage Mother".
Interests:
Writing - of course, watching movies and spending quality time with my family and friends. Also, venturing into another spectrum of writing as a screenwriter: "Karma", "Closer To Closure" (dramas) as well as a short, "Deceit: How Do I Tell Him?" are all posted on Inktip.com

Exerpt from "Silent Hope:" Chapter 4- Graduation For Two

“I didn’t come here today to get praised, I came to give praise. Praise to my grandmother Grace Stephens and my mother Hope Stephens who believed in me from birth and who last names I proudly share. I wasn’t named after my father because he didn’t ‘man up’ to help raise me. I was fortunate enough to be named after my wonderful grandmother who strove hard to make ends-meat and who never gave up in life before she died. I would like to also give praise to God for allowing me to have the strength to stand here today to encourage others to be strong as well and to follow your hearts towards your own dreams. I was told by God in a dream, to let Faith inspire you and Hope guide you in life, so I am doing just that. My daughter Faith, definitely inspires me to do better in my life and has now showed me that I need her more than she needs me. And my mother Hope, helps guide me along the way to the pathways of success. To have tasted your dream, is to have first chased your dream. And to have fought for a dream, is to have first stalked your dream. I have gone way beyond chasing, I am now beginning to stalk my dreams. So if you are not in it to assist me with accomplishing my already set, aimed and ready to fire goals, then get out of my way! I am on a mission now; I have to be because I am now responsible for another life. To all of the other young mothers out there in your seats and soon to be young mothers in the future and am raising your child or children on your own, I would like to say this to you.”

“When love is not a ‘two-way street’, stop going ‘one way’ before you end up at a dead end!”

“Fatherhood is very important for our children, and so is motherhood. We can’t let these no good fathers take us down. Our main objective as young mothers is to ‘sooth the mind’ and not ‘destroy our minds’! Fighting a losing battle while raising a child is senseless, it will take a lot out of us, and we have to be strong for our children. Yesterday made me a better person for today, and today, I desire to be a better young woman for tomorrow. One cannot find peace without first finding all of the pieces that combines it. Just ask yourselves, are you living, or simply just existing in this world that God has granted you so mercifully?”
“Although I am young, I tell myself this all the time. Its ones attitude that governs great things in our daily lives, remember that. Also remember when you are alone in your room and you feel as though you are facing life alone, God’s got your back! I won’t take up too much more of your time, so in my closing, I would like to just thank my mom for supporting me and showing me love when I needed it. Thanks for allowing me time to come to my senses on my own before trying to tell me what to do. Thanks for all of your teachings that I now can share with other young girls. I also would like to thank all of my teachers for pushing me and not allowing me to give up when I felt the need to. Thank you to our Principle, Mrs. Darcy as well. You truly are a blessing from heaven! And on another note, I would very much like to thank my no-good daughter’s father wherever he is, for acting like a ‘wet blanket’ on the floor being inactive, and just like an obstacle, in the way of my successes. But I do thank you for my beautiful gift-of-life, my daughter Faith, who helped change my world and the way I view it. Life is a struggle and then you die, but before I do, I demand to be happy! Thank you all so much.”

‘The audience gracefully laughs and fiercely applauds Virginia for her speech. Mrs. Darcy returns to the microphone and turns to Virginia as she is being seated and softly says,’

“Thank you for your inspiring speech Virginia, I know it will help someone in this auditorium. Your love for your grandmother that you have expressed makes me want to know her.”

‘Virginia smiles and looks up towards the sky. The ceremony continues with more spe
