"I Have Two Daddies: An Earthly Daddy and A Heavenly Daddy" authored by Lynn Calvin and illustrated by Maria Rask is a "must have" for every child's literary library. Bounded within its beautifully illustrated covers, is a foundational spiritual principle, which reveals the loving relationship between God and His children from a little girls point of view. "I Have Two Daddies" makes a wonderful bedtime story for children 3 to 8 and a great first book for beginning readers. I encourage church leaders and educators to add this book to their library. Great source for a Sunday school lesson.

It was amazingly well written! This is a great learning tool for kids of all ages. You touched on scriptures which was great because kids too can learn about the bible. If I had to grade your book, I'd give it an A-. Why A-? Because, I thought it could have been a little longer. However, you did an amazing job delivering the difference between an earthly Daddy and Heavenly Daddy! Thx Lynn

I HAVE TWO DADDIES
Written by
Lynn Calvin
Illustrated by
Maria Rask

The book "I Have Two Daddies" written by Lynn Calvin and illustrated by Maria Rask is a great way to help young children in their understanding of God. Through the telling of a simple yet delightful story the basis for establishing a relationship with God is done in a clear and simple way. Add to this the activities included in the book provide children with a learning experience that is valuable. Both Ms. Calvin and Ms. Rask have done an excellent job in speaking to children at their own level. I believe the book can be used as an excellent resource in the educational ministry of the church as young children begin to entertain and explore their understanding and their relationship with God.

"I Have Two Daddies" is the real life story of a young woman who lost her earthly father in her adulthood. She expresses the joy of having an earthly and heavenly father. It is evident that she effectively communicates a biblical review for the proper nurturing of children through combining the benefit of a loving earthly father with the eternal relationship which grows from having a heavenly father. I recommend this book to all families, especially children.

"I Have Two Daddies" by Lynn Calvin is a pleasant first book for young Christians. The idea for comparing the physical father and the spiritual father is a perfect analogy for young minds to grasp. Core beliefs of the Christian faith are outlined in a straightforward manner suitable for parents and children. The activities at the end of the book foster creativity as well as instill important values for the reader. Illustration is the deciding factor that can make or break a book, and Maria Rask's colorful, friendly characters bring the words alive. All in all, "I Have Two Daddies" is an appropriate choice for Christian children of all ages.

Great Book!!! Encouraging story for kids!, April 8, 2009
By Charles Elmer Brooks III "pastor chuck" (Baltimore, Maryland United States)

As one who was raised by a single mom, I know the book, "I Have Two Daddies" will be a source of encouragement to the child who had been abandoned by his or her father. The truth taught in this book has been my source of comfort and joy since the time I became a Christian. Though my earthly father did not love and care for me and my siblings, our Heavenly Father has always been there for us! My 11 and 14 year old daughters read this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks Lynn Calvin for your unique book!

Easy-to-read story for children!, April 19, 2009
The story, "I Have Two Daddies" by Lynn Calvin, is an easy-to-read story explaining the parallels of the earthly and heavenly fathers. It is written in a style that young children who are beginning their Christian journey can understand. It also reassures children who do not have an earthly father that someone cares for them. Small children who must have the story read to them will have no problem remembering line for line after several readings so that when they are "reading" alone, they know exactly what each page says. I would recommend this book for all young children.

Quote:

I commend Lynn for articulating with such clarity the reality that all of us are guilty of taking for granted. When you think about it Adam was the only person who could not claim two fathers because his biological and heavenly were one and the same, the rest of us have been privileged to have two. As such we should honor both. In this work geared towards children we experience one person’s journey that led to an appreciation of her two daddies. I must admit it left me with an even greater appreciation that I too-just like you share that same heritage. I would encourage you not to just let your children read it but read it with them and share in the meaning of the message.
