I was born on April 20, 1964 in Millington, Tennessee, and am a very proud Mother of three children and Grandmother of two beautiful Grandaughters. The fact that I have always had a very animated imagination has helped me through the toughest of times. When I was nine years old I just fell in love with poetry and rhyming. I can remember writing a book of poems when I was eleven and trying to sell them on the school bus for a quarter. In fact, "The Mouse That Had No Spouse", which is my second book published, was the first poem in the book.
My life has been very up and down, probably not much different than so many others. I have to admit that it has been my own poor judgement for most of the downs; however, the path I've chosen has made me who I am and I have been told on more than one occasion that I am very tenacious. Well, I suppose that tenacity combined with imagination has helped me.
The first of my books to be published is also from verses written in earlier years. "Have You Met The Stonkies?" is a book based on delightful, yet mischevious creatures that came from the imagination of a two year old. That two year old was my son Connor.
I have two favorite sayings. "It's later than you think, enjoy yourself", and "Learn to write your hurts in the sand and your blessings in stone." One more thing I would like to say is that I firmly believe that one of the greatest things a person can do for themselves is to never lose their inner child.
