Larry Robertson is the author of A Deliberate Pause: Entrepreneurship and its Moment in Human Progress (Morgan James Publishing, 10/2009), which has received wide acclaim for its unique and insightful look at how entrepreneurship works and for its accessible, actionable guidance as to how all of us can tap this powerful force that enables humanity to progress. Among other honors, it was chosen from more than 1,400 entrants as a finalist for Book of the Year by highly regarded ForeWord Reviews Magazine by a panel of librarians, booksellers, and reviewers.
He is also the author of the Entrepreneur’s Guide to Raising Private Capital, a unique non-prose guide for entrepreneurs thinking about accessing the angel and venture capital markets.
Beyond his author role, Larry has spent two decades in the entrepreneurial universe in roles ranging from advisor to investor and many in between. In 1992, he founded Lighthouse Consulting, which, appropriately, guides entrepreneurial ventures, their leaders, and those who invest in them. Larry is a recognized expert on entrepreneurship in public, private, and academic forums. He is an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business as well as a frequent lecturer at Cornell University. In the Fall of 2010, he will add the role of host of a cable TV series based on his book and focused on intimate interviews with entrepreneurial thinkers.
His past professional career has included roles with J.P. Morgan, the Walt Disney Company, and Robertson, Stephens & Company. Larry has served as a board member or advisory board member of numerous companies and organizations, both for-profit and non-profit. Currently, he is a Board Member of No Tears Learning (DBA: Handwriting Without Tears) and Really Great Reading, Vice Chair of the non-profit organization Netpreneur, and an Advisory Board Member with Direct Marketing Results, Yes! Circle, and The Finnerty Group. Larry graduated with Distinction from Stanford University and is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
