Nata Francis is a high school junior, facing bigger problems than the SAT's. Her grandfather and best friend, Wakanda Ithua Whitebird, has died. That's not the worst of it all. Soon after her grandfather's death Nata starts to hear...voices.

When Nata tells her secret to the people she trusts most, things start on a downward spiral. Her friends stop talking to her and her own parents think she's crazy. Nata's parents put her on a strict regimine of medicine to stop the hallucinations, but the medicine does not stop the sounds from entering Nata's ears. It is not until one warm summer night, Nata finally realizes she must face her destiny.
