Jane Nixon White is a veteran teacher whose writing crosses genres. Her first book, "Life and Things Like Rocks," is an anthology of poems and prayers for children, and her other published works include plays and award winning poetry and essays. "The Taming of Corky" is her first novel. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Jane moved to Jacksonville, Florida, while in sixth grade, so feels like a native Floridian. |

Current Projects:
Jane's latest project is a two part, posthumous World War II memoir based on her parents' letters written daily during the war. Her father was General George S. Patton's 8th Division, 3rd Army Chaplain in Europe. He received Bronze Stars in the hedgerows of France and at the Battle of the Bulge. It is a war story and also a poignant love story, told by the lovers torn apart by war, yet still reaching out to each other across the miles. (Book One is under contract with a publisher.)
Interests:
Jane enjoys singing in her church choir, and sang in a Christian music festival in Havana, Cuba last summer, which she plans do repeat this year, and will be touring in Ireland with a performance choir in September of 2010. She also enjoys geneology, and is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Jane has three adult children, and six grandchildren.
