I was born in Berkley California to Irish-German parents. After receiving a BA in Economics, a BA in Russian and an MBA, I worked for twenty years in a variety of industries while raising my two children and teaching evening classes at community colleges. I now teach computer science to grades K-5 while pursuing my writing.
I started with nonfiction, the how-to book Building a Midshipman: How to Crack the USNA Application (available hard copy and ebook) and the two-volume series, 55 Technology Projects for the Digital Classroom: Everything you need to integrate computers into K-8 classes (also available in hardcopy and ebooks), as well as the editor of a series of six computer workbooks for grades K-5.
When I won the Southern California Writers Conference Outstanding Fiction Award for my foray into fiction writing (a techno-thriller, To Hunt a Sub excerpt available on Scribd.com), I found a new love. when reviewers lauded it as 'strongly written' with 'interesting and unique plot hooks'. I'm currently working on a prehistoric character-driven novel, Born in a Treacherous Time (excerpt available on Scribd.com) as well as the sequel to To Hunt a Sub.
I live in California with my husband, adult son and two beautiful Labradors.
