HELENE PILIBOSIAN was an editor of The Armenian Mirror-Spectator and now owns Ohan Press. She has published poems in such magazines as North American Review, Weber: The Contemporary West, Journal of the Society for Armenian Studies, Poetry Salzburg and has won prizes for poems and honors from Writers Digest for twp pf her poetry books. Her early poetry has been cited in Greenwood Encyclopedia of Multiethnic American Literature. |
Influences/Inspirations:
The study of literature at Harvard University inspired the writing of poetry. The subject matter was more often determined by experience at the above-mentioned newspaper.
Favorite Writers and Artists:
For writers, Walt Whitman, Amy Lowell, Carl Sandburg, Robert Frost and many others. For artists, Picasso, Gorky, Rembrandt, Renoir, and others too numerous to mention.
Interests:
Classical music, reading, cooking, restaurants, attending lectures.
Family:
Husband Hagop Sarkissian, two children Sharon and Robert with their spouses, and two grandchildren Joshua and Emily.
