Graeme Lofts was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1951. After completing a Science Education degree with a major in Physics he taught Physics and Science in Australian secondary schools for 15 years before co-authoring his first science text book in 1990. Since that time he has been senior author of numerous Science and Physics text books, include Living with Science and Technology, Science Quest, Jacaranda Physics, Core Science and Jacaranda Science.
In 1997 The Science Quest series was named best series and won the overall award in The Australian Awards for Excellence in Educational Publishing. Since then, Graeme has become a full-time author and has moved beyond text books as co-author of Australia's Dangerous Creatures for Dummies and sole author of Heart and Soul: Australia's First Families of Wine - the story of twelve multi-generational families of Australian winemakers.

Influences/Inspirations:
Although he pursued a career in physics and science education, Graeme was most strongly influenced by a succession of inspirational English teachers.
Current Projects:
Graeme is currently taking on small editing projects while deciding on a new major writing project.
Interests:
Travel, food and wine.
Family:
Married to Dianne. Two sons, four grandsons and one granddaughter.
