Judges commentary: "What stands out to me most about "Sacred Sight" is the author's clear talent as a writer. For a work of this genre, it's rare to encounter such attuned writing overall. The author has a fine sense of image, and brings her passages to life with great description and clarity. She also has done her research; I felt like I was in good hands the whole way through, even in sections that featured material I wasn't familiar with. The inclusion of poems to break up the chapters is thoughtful, too--each time I encountered one I was surprised and elated. Thank you for submitting your work.

Posted October 1, 2008, 1:25 PM EST: This book is a wonderful collection of stories and poetry that show us how the ability to 'live in the moment,' and remember these moments, has tremendous potential to enrich our lives. We all get so busy with everyday tasks that it is very easy to pay little attention to the small, but significant, events that actually shape our lives. While I'm sure portions of the stories are strictly factual with respect to the author's experiences, they are creative and engaging. Several times I found myself remembering experiences very similar and, in particular for me, paying closer attention to my dreams seems to be important. Now I am actually encouraged to get serious about interpreting their meaning! Of course that will take some purposeful work on my part... But this book doesn't tell us what to do, it just gives us an example of how thinking differently about your life could help you understand it better. Worth reading? YES! I believe the author is showing us different ways to put our lives in perspective, to place ourselves in a much, much bigger picture. One that includes all the events going on around us to which we are connected, and maybe, thinking larger, situations that are global and influencing our lives now, and perhaps in the future. There are important LITTLE GEMS in these stories and poems. They will challenge you to think outside the box, and encourage you to listen to that inner voice that may be whispering in the background. ENJOY!!

SACRED SIGHT: In The Footsteps of Our Ancestors: A Journey of Self Discovery

After reading this book when received as a gift...my friend, JoAnn W. wrote the following:

This is a book of short stories, memories, visions, and dreams by the author and about the author and about her friends and mentors. Some delve into her past or past lives and memories. All can trigger memories/metaphors, insights, glimpses and Ah Ha's in the reader's own thoughts and memories and life. The author taps on the drum head of all our collective cellular humanness and awakens dim and not so dim feelings and memories. She shows that dreams and discoveries about the past become wonderful guideposts for the present. This book is a keeper
