Hi Mr. Nolan,
I just purchased your book on the town of Tascosa, as my wife's great grand uncle was the John Lang who was involved in the 1886 gunfight there. I noticed that you made mention of the fact that he may have been a town marshal in Amarillo for a while. I wonder if you could tell me more? I'm trying to find out more about his life (which seems to have been a very interesting one) as part of a genealogy project I'm doing. Sadly, all we have of John Lang is an excerpt from a newspaper that was printed in the 1940s, so your book is a treasure trove for us.
Any more help you might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. I hope it's appropriate to post a request here. I wasn't sure how else to contact you. I discovered that you once provided a sketch of Isaac "Ike" Stockton to another western researcher/author. I am doing local historical research in Durango, Colorado, specifically on the Animas City Cemetery where Ike is buried. I am creating a website on the cemetery and would like to include the sketch with your permission.

Thank you for your contributions to researching and recording history, especially the western U.S.!

Regards,
