Franklin Abbott has been writing poetry and practicing psychotherapy for decades. A graduate of Mercer University and the University of Georgia School of Social Work, he lives outside Atlanta near Stone Mountain. He is author of three anthologies about men and gender, Boyhood: Growing Up Male (university of Wisconsin Press) is the most recent. His first book of poetry and memoir, Mortal Love, was published by RFD Press. He is chairperson of the Atlanta Queer Literary Festival and a member of The Ninth Muse Writing Group.
