Emily is a retired nurse who had a five year partnership with the man who was best man at her 1966 wedding 33 years before they got together. They had a fun, interesting and unique time until his transplanted liver gave out. They spent the last weeks of his life at home, living.

Emily wrote this book to share the story of two people who had to deal with each other as the people they had become facing life as opposed to developing together as young lovers do. They had a good time doing this, and the book is hilarious as well as sensitive.

Emily now concentrates on quilting, modeling and grandmotherhood. She still lives in the house with the sunny room.
