Since 1980 I have specialized as a lawyer in the area of civil appeals and writs. I have been certified by the California State Bar, Board of Legal Specialization, as a specialist in appellate law since 1999. I have also spent many years working on law and motion matters on a consulting basis for other attorneys and in preparing hundreds of motions and briefs.
My book, California Summary Judgment and Related Termination Motions, is now published by The Rutter Group as part of the California Litigation Series. It provides a quick reference for attorneys who need to prepare terminating motions. If that wasn't enough, I spent over five years as the editor of several legal magazines for plaintiff's lawyers, including Plaintiff, The Advocate, The Forum, and The Gavel.

Current Projects:
My second book, An Appeal to Reason: 204 Strategic Tools to Help You Win Your Appeal at Trial, will be released in mid-July 2011. This book, published by Bench Press Publishing, is written by an appellate attorney and provides solid information to trial attorneys on how to best protect their cases at the trial level, just in case they are appealed.
