Author Biography

Colin Clark is an applied mathematician (retired). He collaborates extensively with biologists and economists, providing his expertise in modeling and model analysis. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society (London), and of the Royal Society of Canada.

Colin's special scientific interests are (i) Behavioral Ecology, and (ii) Renewable Resource Management (especially Marine Fisheries).
Influences/Inspirations:
Colin has been much inspired by his co-workers, including Professor Gordon R. Munro, Professor John R. Beddington, Professor Marc Mangel, Professor Ronald C. Ydenberg, Professor Reuven Dukas, Professor Jin Yoshimura and the late Dr. Geoff P.Kirkwood.
Favorite Writers and Artists:
Writers: Laurens van der Post, P.G. Wodehouse; Composers: J.S. Bach. W.A. Mozart, Bela Bartok.
Current Projects:
Just now completing Mathematical Bioeconomics (Third Edition), which has been almost completely rewritten. Also hope to publish Math Overboard, A Complete Guide to ELementary Mathematics, K-12.
Interests:
Natural history and Birdwatching; Cross-country skiing; Gardening.
Family:
Spouse Janet A. Clark, whom I married in 1955. Kids Jennifer, Karen and Graeme. Grandkids Laura, Bob, Andrew and Nathan (1 year old).
