For over ten year, Chris Jones and her husband have grown Sauvignon Blanc and Sangiovese grapes at their ranch in Los Olivos, California.

A third-generation Central Coast native, Jones was originally inspired to write a simple "how to grow grapes" book for wine lovers. Intuition led in a different direction, however, and "ONE VINTAGE: A Year in the Vineyard" evolved into a contemplative work, in which the annual rhythm of the vineyard may be seen as a metaphor for life's circularity.

As a teacher of the Japanese art of flower arranging, in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana, Jones believes that working with nature releases the latent creativity in all of us. The rich beauty of her vineyard was the catalyst for the creation of "ONE VINTAGE."
