Carole Sargent is the founding Director of the Office of Scholarly and Literary Publications at Georgetown University. She earned a Ph.D. in 18th-century English literature at the University of Virginia. Sargent formerly taught 18th-century fiction in Georgetown's English Department, and she is the author of two books with Farrar, Straus & Giroux that received national publicity, including The New York Times, Newsweek, NPR, CNN and "60 Minutes."
