Venue Phone: 518 583 2424
Designed to help frustrated writers find ways to get their works to readers, this workshop will explain how the industry works, the changes that are happening on a daily basis and discuss what a book proposal is and why authors of non-fiction works must know how to prepare one. Writers will be given the educational tools to better understand the publishing industry and how they can get past the many rejections that come with it. They will hopefully begin to see that a rejection is often not from the quality of their work, but because they as an author do not have a platform. This workshop will offer suggestions on how to get that platform.
Also explored will be ways writers can find their audience/market prior to publishing their book, traditional publishing compared to independent publishing, and the benefits and drawbacks of both. This workshop will be interactive, open to questions, and Carol will be willing to meet with some writers one on one for a few minutes at the end of the workshop.
