Author Biography
Carol A. Butler was born and educated in New York City. She graduated from the Bronx High School of Science, Queens College, and New York University, where she received her Masters and Doctoral degrees and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology. She has a private practice in Manhattan of psychotherapy for individuals and couples, mediation of divorces and business or family disputes, and divorce coaching. In 2004, she found herself in a tent full of butterflies while volunteering at a festival in Central Park one Sunday morning. She was intrigued, and applied that evening to volunteer at the American Museum of Natural History’s butterfly conservatory where she has been a docent every since. That affiliation led to a book about butterflies, and in the past 2 years, she has co-authored 6 natural science books for a general adult audience, published by Rutgers University Press. A book is in press about horses for Storey Publications. |
