Candace lives on a small ranch in Florida and raises miniature horses. She has a son, a daughter and three grandchildren.
After high school, Candace joined the Marine Corps towards the end of the Vietnam Conflict. She owned a knitting store in Wyoming, and moved back to Florida in 1984.
Candace sold a lounge in 2009 and began writing full time. She has been an avid pool player for twenty five years and spends the warmer weather kayaking on the river.
