My Time : Life and Times in the Twentieth Century
In this memoir, C. Robert Wolfe invites readers to join him on an old-fashioned meandering down memory lane.
My Time is a strikingly personal perspective of a historic period, linking the account of Wolfe's day-to-day living with the evolution of the 20th century. Beginning with post-WWI America, Wolfe chronicles the Roaring Twenties, the Wall Street crash of 1929, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, World War II and the Cold War, correlating these historical moments with his personal life, from school days to marriage to work to retirement.
Born in 1926, Wolfe watched most of the 20th century unfold before his eyes, and more often than not,it zoomed past. He has taken the time to reflect on all that he experienced. My time is "intended to provide a perspective to look at events that shaped the course of our lives," Wolfe writes. "Only in retrospect do we realize the changes that have occured and influenced events of our lives."
