“I read this book and realized that this author has a gift. I felt like I was back in college with my first college sweet heart. I almost picked up the phone to give her a call. The emotion, and the realism the writer displayed was very unique. The relationship in the book between the 2 main characters is something that anyone can identify with. The young author Ashley Charisma has a promising future in writing, that I will enjoy reading hopefully for a long time to come.”

“It only took me a day to read this book, not because it was a short read, but because it was an enticing one. The book makes you mad, confused, happy, and sad; therefore, leaving each character to be relatable to the reader’s own life. I’m looking forward to her other works.”

“These writings are vivid and colorful. To read one is to have your senses opened in a way few literary pieces are capable of. How refreshing!”

KeShawn Johnson, a senior at Morgan State University, must find a topic for a paper so she can graduate. She is also dating Jason. At first, it was all wonderful. They meshed well together; then something happens and they grow apart. KeShawn decides this would be a good theme for her final report “how to love a Black man and get along with him so you do end up at that final step” the altar. She writes about her relationship with Jason and shows what she should have done and the things she did incorrectly. She does not take all the blame for the failed relationship, but she does a very good job of showing how things could have been different. She knows she still loves Jason, but the relationship is finally over and she must live with that.

Ashley Charisma in SCHOOL OF BLACK LOVE has penned an interesting while informative book on how to conduct a relationship with a man. She calls it the SCHOOL OF BLACK LOVE but it would cover just about anyone in a relationship who doesn’t know which direction to turn. She also intersperses poetry with the prose which makes for a very interesting read. It is definitely a must read for those starting out in a relationship they wish to keep alive.
