Peter Clifton

Founder, President & CEO

Peter Clifton, the co-founder, President and CEO of FiledBy, has more than 25 years experience in the publishing, media and technology industries. Most recently, Peter was President and CEO of several Ingram Book Group companies including Ingram International, Ingram Library Services, Ingram Periodicals and Tennessee Book Company. Prior to Ingram, he was the founding CEO of PubEasy.com, the book industry customer service and transaction portal. Peter was Director of Publicity and Director of New Media Development at John Wiley & Sons, Inc. as well as Vice President of New Media at HarperCollins Publishers, and the Vice President of Business Development at SEGASoft in Redwood City, CA, a SEGA of America subsidiary. Peter has a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from the University of Massachusetts.

A Little More Info: Peter enjoys reading biographies about artists, thrillers, and mysteries, as well as books about marketing and innovation.

Tamara Crabtree

Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Tamara spent several years in the entertainment industry prior to working in publishing. She got her start in marketing at Gaylord Entertainment with the Grand Ole Opry and The Ryman Auditorium. Tamara then joined Davis-Kidd and Joseph-Beth Booksellers and worked with authors on events and promotions. She was VP of Marketing and Creative Services at Ingram Book Group where she first worked with Peter.

A Little More Info: Her own reading time includes contemporary fiction that involves social issues and a good thriller from time to time.

Bob Lee

Customer Support Manager

Bob was the Customer Support Administrator with PassAlong Networks, a digital music company based in Nashville. He also worked for Dell Computers as a software and peripherals specialist. Bob enjoys reading any kind of fiction, old and new.

A Little More Info: He would like to have met Hemingway, but would prefer to join him in a cool drink of vermouth.

Dave Sobotka

Senior Engineer, Data Acquisition & Understanding

Dave was a systems architect with AOL and former CTO of When.com. He's also the co-founder and CTO of Resumix, Inc. He was a Senior R&D Engineer for ESL/TRW, Senior Engineer at JPL, and Engineer at General Dynamics. For personal reading he enjoys historical fiction and mysteries.

A Little More Info: If he could meet a classic author he'd choose historical writer, Kenneth Roberts.

Renae Purdy

Customer Support Technician

Renae gained plenty of experience in the book industry during a 21-year career with Ingram. She worked in technical and data support and has helped many booksellers over the years. Renae heard about FiledBy through a friend - and knew she wanted to be part of our team and work directly with authors.

A Little More Info: She has a deep respect and love for childrens' books and would have loved to have met Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel.

Mike Shatzkin

Co-founder

Mike is a publishing industry strategist and leading consultant to publishing, technology and supply chain companies worldwide with a specialization in "digital change." Mike has addressed and organized industry conferences around the globe, consults for many major companies in the US and the UK and has written for every major publishing journal. He is the author of more than half-a-dozen books, so as an author and publishing consultant, Mike's been familiar with the challenges of authors for over four decades. Long recognized as a cutting edge thinker on digital change that affects publishing, Mike's involvement in and co-founding of FiledBy is a natural.

A Little More Info: Mike is an avaricious reader of history, biography, anything about baseball, and for fiction he favors mysteries and thrillers.
